Dear Friends,
Sometimes the simplest solution is the most effective. With that in mind, I often think there has been a real and intended disconnect from the wisdom of our ancestors, especially when it comes to inexpensive and effective means of healthcare. Remedies like salt baths to purge toxins, drinking baking soda in water as an ant-acid, aloe for burns, boric acid as an eye bath and ginger or peppermint for nausea. Then again sometimes new research enlightens us to amazing new applications for these old remedies.
Boron is a mineral that works as an activator; it is responsible for regulating the absorption and metabolism of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. Like many other essential minerals that our bodies need, boron is not as abundant in our soil as it used to be, due to the overuse of herbicides and chemical fertilizers. The chemical names for Boron are Sodium Tetraborate, Disodium Tetraborate Decahydrate, or Sodium Borate. I know that is quite a mouth full but chemically they are all the same. It is usually mined from dried salt lakes.
What actually happens if you don’t get enough boron? You’re more likely to deal with things like arthritis, osteoporosis, memory problems, low sex drive, tooth decay, kidney stones, muscle cramps, and restless legs. The fluid that keeps your joints moving smoothly—called synovial fluid—also doesn’t work as well when you’re low on boron. Taking boron supplements can help cut down on how much calcium your body pulls out of your bones, sometimes by as much as half. That makes it especially helpful for people worried about osteoporosis. Boron also helps protect against some of the downsides of fluoride and can even help clear out calcium deposits in the pineal gland. It plays a big role in how your body handles hormones, especially the ones linked to libido. There’s even some early evidence that boron might help with Morgellons disease.
So where can I get Boron Water?
At this point, you might be wondering how to actually get your hands on this mineral. Is it hard to find or pricey? Not at all. In fact, it’s hiding in plain sight under a familiar name: Borax. Yep, the same “20 Mule Team” detergent booster you see in the laundry section at the grocery store. Just check the label—it should say “Sodium Tetraborate” as the only ingredient.
Believe me, I understand how bizarre this sounds, before you panic, be assured that this product is less toxic than salt.
This is How to Make Boron Water:
In a 1 quart mason jar add 1 teaspoon Borax then fill jar with pure water. If you have city water, it would be best if you purchase spring water to make your Boron Water. Shake until crystals are dissolved and store in your cabinet.
***Don’t buy ‘New Borax Substitute’, as it has added perfumes and anti-caking agents.***
Dosing of Boron Water:
The general rule is WOMEN take 2 tsp. daily and MEN take 4 tsp daily. However if you have any of the health problems as discussed above you can temporarily increase daily dosage of boron water up to 3 TABLESPOONS daily depending on your size and gender. Women take half of the men’s dose. Monitor yourself and when your symptoms reached a satisfactory conclusion, then you can decrease back to a maintenance dose. Example: WOMEN – 2 tsp. daily and MEN – 4 tsp daily.
Boron water is also an excellent fungicide, which makes it an ideal way to keep candida overgrowth in check. You will notice improvement in a short amount of time. However, long standing calcification build-up in the body will take longer to clear up and will most likely need higher doses as discussed above. However it is manageable. Remember to closely monitor your symptoms with your dosing.
I hope this will be helpful to you or someone you know to live a happy and healthy life.
Love and Light, Lori

I’m diabetic can I still use this
Yes indeed you can. Boron water has no sugar or carbohydrates and has been shown to help improve wound healing in diabetics by helping to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Additionally, it helps to maintain normal blood sugar levels, which is important for wound healing.
I was lucky to be taught about boron water by my Grandmother who knew the old ways from the old country and didn’t believe in Rx drugs (only treat symptoms). Boron water is an absolute Godsend for me, my family and countless other families across the globe. Drinking boron water helps to alkalize your body and end acidosis (a disease state where ill health and obesity is rampant). Yes, Boron water was more well known in the past as a remedy for arthritis, forgetfulness due to old age, brain fog, toenail fungus (soak it), candida yeast, depression, osteoporosis etc. However, it’s effective nonetheless. Thanks for publishing this article. We have to get the word out on this time-tested and proven remedy.
A friend recommended boron water for this.
I have a box of 20 mule team which shows sodium borate as the only ingredient. However it says not to swallow or ingest. Do you think this is just for.liability issues? It’s so hard to ignore those warnings.
Borax should not be ingested in its solid form, but it is perfectly safe in the diluted form recommended in this article.
This has been a great reminder of what the Boron water was used for. Thanks so very much!!❤️🙏🏻
